Berlin. A place of wonders and wounds.
The pictures below were taken on my last visit to the enchanting city. A place where I keep turning back, where some kind of freedom is celebrated. When I first went to Berlin, five years ago I was amazed by such a place, discovering the old communist quarters taken over and enlivened by 'artnarchist' communities.
It was, I think, the beginning for me of a long quest that started of my wish and need to create, to find freedom through art.
I have been back every year since, liking the harsh atmosphere of cold winters (it seems like), this year was breaking all records, having to brave -18 degrees.. yes this is when you really understand what
'love has no limits' means.
The city is changing and so is the world, attracting more and more dreamers and tourists of course, and even if the curse of big investors wanting to demolish this wonderland, that happened so naturally, from the people and for the people, is haunting all the Berlin lovers, some say that 'the rave (from the fall of the wall) never ended' and I guess it will never end..
Berlin. Une ville de merveilles et de blessures.
Les images ci-dessous ont ete prises lors de ma derniere visite dans la ville enchantee. Un lieu ou je retourne souvent, ou une sorte de liberte y est celebree. Quand je suis allee a Berlin pour la premiere fois, il y a cinq ans, j'etais emerveillee par un tel endroit, decouvrir les ex-quartiers communistes enjolives par les communautes 'artnarchistes'.
C'etait, je pense, le debut pour moi d'une longue quete qui a commence ma volonte et mon besoin de creer, de trouver la liberte a travers l'art.
J'y retourne tous les ans, aimant visiblement les atmospheres rudes des hivers glaciales, cette annee a battu tous les records, ayant a braver -18 degrees.. oui c'est a ce moment la que l'on comprend vraiment ce que 'l'amour n'a pas de limite' veut dire.
La ville change et le monde aussi, attirant de plus en plus de reveurs et de touristes aussi biensur, et si la malediction de grands investisseurs qui veulent demolire ce pays aux merveilles, qui est apparut si naturellement, par le peuple et pour le peuple, hante tous les adeptes de Berlin, certain disent que 'la rave (d'apres la chute du mur) ne s'est jamais fini' et je suppose qu'elle ne finira jamais..
